Today’s cheat sheet

Five captaincy considerations before locking your team.

A pre-toss framework, not a model. The numbers below are the kind of questions to ask at 6:30 PM, not a guarantee.

  1. 01

Who bowls at the death for the chasing side?

Death-overs bowlers are the cleanest captaincy value in T20. If the opponent’s fifth bowler goes for ten an over, pick a top-order batter from the chasing side.

  2. 02

Is the venue a batting paradise or a spin trap?

Chennai, Lucknow and Mumbai nights have favoured spinners. Pune and Bengaluru have rewarded power hitters. Pick accordingly.

  3. 03

What is the captain’s record in this exact matchup?

Batter-versus-bowler head-to-head is more predictive than overall form. Read our fantasy tips library for the full method.

  4. 04

    Are any frontline allrounders rested?

Workload management is the single biggest cause of a “sudden” 8-point game. Check the playing-XI tweet at 6:50 PM, not the squad list.

  5. 05

Is the contest format rewarding ceiling or floor?

Head-to-head contests reward floor. GPP mega contests reward ceiling. Same team, different captain. See the predictions desk.

Inside the T20 World Cup 2026 roadmap: venues, format, and what it means for your fantasy squad.

The next ICC T20 World Cup cycle quietly reshapes how fantasy platforms price allrounders, how captaincy value gets assigned, and which domestic leagues become relevant again. We walked through the published schedule, the squad registration windows and the new concussion-substitute rule to map what changes for fantasy readers.

The headline shift: more matches in the subcontinent, more day games under lights, and a longer window where top-order batters from associate nations become realistic captaincy picks. If you play on multi-format apps, expect the 14-day mega contest to be split into two shorter windows for the first time.

The fantasy cricket points system, in one place.

The exact scoring matrix used by every major Indian fantasy cricket platform. We update this table when a platform changes a number; we cite the change in the changelog at the bottom of the page.

Action T20 ODI Test

Boundary bonus+4+4+4
Six bonus+6+6+6

Economy < 5 (T20 min 2 ov)+6--

How to actually use this table

The T20 column is the only one that matters for IPL and most associate-nation T20 leagues. Read it column-by-column from the top: a single boundary gives you four points, but a six gives you seven. That is why captains who clear the rope at a 30% rate are worth the salary.

The ODI column is deceptively different. Milestone bonuses are weighted the same, but duck penalties are harsher, and economy bonuses are much softer. Pick ODI contests the way you would a Test match: floor over ceiling.

Test columns reflect the four-day domestic and international reality, where allrounders who bat at seven and bowl 20 overs have the highest median fantasy score per innings. See our full points system explainer for the worked examples.

Proof of payout, not promises.

We publish a sample of recent public payouts as they appear on verified leaderboards. Figures below are taken from contest final summaries, not marketing material. Always check the platform’s official T&C for tax treatment.

Beginner path

How a fantasy contest actually works, in six steps.

If you have never played, this is the shortest honest version. We do not show fake screenshots; the photographs below are the real app on a real phone, taken by the editorial desk.

  1. 1

Install the app and verify your account

You will need a mobile number, a PAN, and a bank or UPI handle. Verification is free and reversible; you can delete the account afterwards.

  2. 2

Pick a match from the upcoming list

Every IPL, T20 World Cup, BBL, SA20 and CPL match appears the morning of the toss. International fixtures appear 48 hours out.

  3. 3

Build a 11-player squad inside the salary cap

Most platforms cap at 100 credits. Pick one wicketkeeper, three to six batters, one to four allrounders and three to six bowlers. The captain gets 2x points; the vice-captain gets 1.5x.

  4. 4

    Choose a contest size

Head-to-heads reward consistency. Mega contests reward ceiling. Practice contests are free. Start with a low-fee head-to-head until you understand the salary math.

  5. 5

Track the match and your points

Live points tick on the app by ball. The platform settles within ten minutes of the second innings ending.

  6. 6

Withdraw winnings or roll them into the next contest

UPI withdrawals clear in 30 minutes to 4 hours once KYC is done. Read the withdrawal walkthrough for the exact method.

How we verify an offer

Every code on this guide is taken from the platform’s own promotional page. We do not invent codes, do not run a "secret" code list, and do not promise bonuses the platform has not publicly announced. If a code stops working, we remove it from the table within 24 hours and log the change below.

For the legal language and the exact rollover math, the bonus code reference and the referral code reference are the canonical pages. Both link to the platform’s own T&C for every offer they list.

Compliance & eligibility

State rules, KYC and responsible play, treated as editorial.

We do not run a "100% legal in India" line. Real-money fantasy cricket is regulated state by state, and the rules change. The list below is current as of publication; the state eligibility page carries the live changelog.

Where paid fantasy contests are currently permitted

Based on state-level gaming acts and published platform T&C. This is an editorial summary, not legal advice.

  • West Bengal

Restricted or evolving: Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka, Odisha, Sikkim, Telangana, Tamil Nadu (select districts). Read the legal page before depositing.

Responsible play

Fantasy contests involve financial risk. Treat your entry fee as a cost, not an investment, and never chase a losing streak with a larger deposit.

LeagueX will not run aggressive loss-chase prompts. If a platform does, leave the contest. See our responsible play guide for the warning signs and the support lines.

KYC, PAN and UPI

Every withdrawal above ₹10,000 requires PAN verification under Indian tax law. UPI handles clear fastest. Bank transfers can take 24-48 hours.

The full walkthrough, including the rare cases where a withdrawal stalls, is on the withdrawal page.

Questions desk

The questions our editors get asked most often.

If your question is not here, the contact page goes to a real person. We answer within two working days.

  • Is fantasy cricket legal in India?
Real-money fantasy cricket is regulated state by state. Most Indian states permit it for verified 18+ users; a small number restrict or have evolving rules. The legal page lists the current state of play and links to each state’s gaming act.
  • How is the captain scored in fantasy cricket?
The captain earns 2x the points they score in the actual match. The vice-captain earns 1.5x. That is why almost every team picks a captain from the top four batters or the strike bowler.
  • What is a good head-to-head record for fantasy cricket?
A consistent head-to-head player wins 55-60% of contests over a season. Anything above 60% over 200+ entries is genuinely strong. We log the picks of our own desk and publish the running hit rate.
  • How long does a withdrawal take?
UPI withdrawals clear in 30 minutes to 4 hours once KYC is verified. Bank transfers take 24-48 hours. PAN verification is required above ₹10,000 by Indian tax rules. See the full withdrawal walkthrough.
  • Do bonuses count toward withdrawals?
Most platforms require a rollover (typically 1x to 4x the bonus) before bonus funds can be withdrawn. Always read the platform’s own T&C for the specific multiplier. We list the rollover on every offer in the bonus code reference.
  • Is the LeagueX app free to download?
Yes. The app and the practice contests are free. Paid contests require a deposit and are subject to state eligibility and 18+ rules.
  • What is the minimum deposit?
₹100 on most Indian platforms. Some accept UPI handles that are not linked to a bank account for the first deposit, but KYC still applies before the first withdrawal.
  • How do you pick a captain for a day game?
Day games reward the chasing side. Pick a top-order batter from the team batting second, ideally one who plays spin well. Read the fantasy tips library for the full method.
  • Are fantasy winnings taxable in India?
Yes, net fantasy winnings are taxable as income from other sources. Platforms above a threshold deduct TDS at source. You still need to declare the gross winnings in your ITR. We are not tax advisors; consult a CA.
  • Can I delete my account?
Yes. Every licensed Indian fantasy platform must provide account deletion. The walkthrough is on the contact page.
